a french press method

1, 2, 3

Yesterday I spoke of my Anthropologie Christmas gifts, but today I speak of my most favorite gift of all: my french press. My mom actually gave it to me for Christmas the year before but I never got around to getting coarse ground coffee or a coffee grinder, so I never used it. Until this year when she gave me an Amazon gift card which I used towards a little Bodum coffee grinder!

So I bought a tin of Illy whole bean coffee, ground the beans myself, and pressed my own coffee for the very first time a few days ago. And now I'm absolutely obsessed and don't want to drink it any other way! It was seriously the best cup of coffee I've ever had (even the dregs tasted good).

Of course, the pretty little design definitely doesn't hurt the whole "French" experience and I love how my tiny press is the perfect size to make one cup.

PS. If you want to learn more about the french press method, I highly recommend this post by the enormously talented Hugh and Sara.

So many favorite things in this post: coffee! French press! Sprouted Kitchen!

I'm getting to be more & more of a coffee fiend... I didn't drink it one morning a few weeks ago and had a headache by the afternoon. Not a good sign...

I ran out of coffee filters this morning and took out my french press too. I totally agree, it does make a delicious cup of joy.

Now, do you have an easy method of cleaning yours? That is the only downside for me...

oooh that looks good. I have one that I got a while ago and have always used for tea, but now I need to bring in the coffee element. I've been thinking about getting the grinder

I was eyeing a similar French Press but remember that having such nice items is useless when our home here is only temporary. Love the photos! I'll just live my coffee dreams through you for the time being!
