This is completely unrelated to these beautiful pictures, but I just felt my first earthquake! And I haven't even moved to California yet! There was a 5.9 earthquake in Mineral, Virginia, which is about 150 miles northeast of where I live. I was sitting at my computer at work and my cubicle started shaking! Crazy!

That -is- crazy! I felt an earthquake once when I was in Germany. It woke me up, and left me confused, but no lasting damage. Hope everyone in Mineral is ok!

i just moved out of san francisco 3 months ago and i can remember feeling 2 earthquakes while i lived there. they were so surreal!
I talked to my girlfriend yesterday who lives in Brooklyn and for us California girls, everyones response was pretty funny, as she told me the people around here were freaking out. Where we come from in California is only a hop away from the San Andreas Fault so I have felt quite a few earthquakes. I had no idea there were even faults on the east coast! Glad no one was injured!
the earthquake is so scary! but thank you for creating such a beautiful blog. i've only just stumbled across it and it has inspired me to begin my art project
