weekend recap

I had a wonderfully relaxing, semi-productive weekend! Here it goes:

Unfortunately it was way too cloudy to even think about watching the Perseids. Did any of you get to see it?

Friday night my sister and I watched Message in a Bottle for the first time and we both came to two conclusions: 1) We really like Kevin Costner and 2) we hate Nicholas Sparks for always killing off characters at the end of all of his books. I also watched the newest episode of The Pillars of the Earth and can't believe that I've forgotten so many major parts even though I only read the book a little over a year ago. Do you do that? Read a book and then a few years later re-read it and it might as well have been that you never read it? Apparently I don't always have such a great memory...

Saturday morning I woke up early (well, early for the weekend) and finished Contact in a mad rush. It was so wonderful... (As is obvious from this post and this post.) Considering how much I loved the movie, I loved the book even more. There is so much that was left out, so many poignant parts... In fact, the most important parts of the book, I thought, weren't even touched upon in the movie.

I watched over twenty episodes of Grey's Anatomy. *Sigh* I love Grey's Anatomy... I love dark and twisty Meredith...

My sister, mom and I and a friend and her mom went to see Eat Pray Love. I said before that I had high hopes, and it was good, but not great. It was mostly pretty, and it had me dreaming of traveling the world even more than I already was.

And I finally finished the big photography job I've been working on since March! I completely edited and sorted and checked and rechecked all of the pictures. I'm going to recheck them all again tonight to make sure everything is perfect, then I'll deliver them to the client. Yay! Look for a post later this week on what I've done...

I also bought a plane ticket to visit my boyfriend in Florida! Twenty-five days and counting...

So, I saw Eat, Pray, Love this weekend too. And I think the main reason I enjoyed it was because I saw that it earned only 39% on rotten tomatoes BEFORE I went. I went in with such low expectations that it surprised me. I agree it was mostly just pretty, but I so love Julia Roberts that she made it worthwhile!
