This statue of the little mermaid honoring Hans Christian Andersen sits on a rock in the harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark. I've always had a thing for mermaids (when swimming, my sister and I used to cross our ankles, pretending to have fins when we were younger) and so it's no surprise that I have a deep affinity for this statue. I love that she seems to have legs while there is only a hint of fins sprouting from her calves.
I would love to see her in person someday!

what a beautiful statue, she does look like she's sprouting legs.
