moon rising

Isn't the moon glorious? Have you ever seen it through a telescope, even a not-so-powerful telescope? The intense sharpness and detail of the craters is absolutely amazing, something I could look at for the rest of my life...

"These celestial images are made from glass plate negatives that belong to the archive of the Lick Observatory in San Francisco. These images were made by various astronomers including E. E. Barnard and are printed by Linda Connor with permission from the Lick Observatory."

What? There's an observatory in San Francisco?! Yet another thing to put on my to-do list for next time!

Hi Andrea those moon photos are just stunning... I used to look at moon a lot, and meditate at night was one my favorites things as I was growing up (yeah I know I was a weird kid!), I kinda miss that! I never had a telescope thou... must be very interesting...
