gone baby gone

Well, I had a wonderful day off work yesterday, spent with my twin brother! Our birthday is on Friday, and since we haven't been able to celebrate together on the actual day in five years, we were trying to get together then. But he just got a new job and couldn't take that day off, so instead he drove from South Carolina to Virginia to visit me and the rest of our family earlier in the week! We spent the day together yesterday: I took him to the art exhibit to show him my photograph that won the award, then he took me to the Dollar Store to pick out useless, random items (it was really very funny and silly...) and to the ABC store to pick out some alcoholic beverages (Bailey's Irish Cream!) and, along with our sister, we took our dog for a walk while wearing party hats. Then we had a delicious dinner (by request of my brother) of fall-off-the-bone ribs with a delicious brown sugar sauce, corn on the cob, asparagus, and pasta salad. And strawberry trifle for dessert!

It was really nice to spend the day with him, especially since I don't know when I'll get the chance to see him again...

Oddly enough, the first picture is one I took yesterday of my sister and my brother. I wasn't trying to get a particular shot, just testing the exposure. But it worked out rather perfectly because he's the one who's now left and gone and my sister is staying for the rest of the summer.
