marriage material

Though I recently got engaged, my fiancé and I aren't setting a wedding date just yet because we are currently separated by a continent. (I'm in Virginia and he's in California). At the moment we're just worrying about living in the same state and getting all the stuff worked out first.

Of course, like any true girl, that hasn't kept me from collecting ideas for how I want the big day to look and feel. I've been pinning things on my wedding inspiration board on Pinterest right here.

Basically, I want it to be an outdoor wedding with twinkle lights and various-sized hanging lanterns and birdcages. I want a soft, romantic feel with deep purples and blacks.

Congratulations on your engagement. Off to check out your pins, now. :)

that first image? breathtaking!

also, just to be pedantic -- the alliteration is wonderful, but don't mix up your wedding with your marriage. your wedding inspiration images are beautiful and otherworldly and marvelous, but all the pretties in the world do not a happily-ever-after make. =)

the title "marriage material" was just my attempt at creating an "interesting" title for my board on pinterest and has nothing to do with the man i am going to marry :)

Congratulations! Exciting and dramatic stuff! Looks like whatever you choose, it is shaping up to be a very stylish and sophisticated wedding, from your moody & glamourous selections so far.

I spent my engagement on the other side of the country from my fiancee {albet in Australia not US} so it was kinda handy because he pretty much just left everything to me to choose {good because I am a perfectionist and love to design every little detail.}

As he said, he just had to turn up on the day and say "yes". That was 20 years ago, and we are still married, so perhaps the separated time made everything so much sweeter!

oh andrea, that sounds gorgeous. Deep purple and blacks? Outdoor wedding? It'll knock my socks off! ;) I can't wait to see the photos from your own wedding.

I'm glad you're not rushing things though, there's so need to pile on added stress, especially if you're moving in the near future.

Of course you'll be thinking about marriage and collecting ideas! We're girls. It's our nature. I do the same, really! And I've already been down that road before... :)
