the fallen

It was a beautiful Autumn weekend here in southern Virginia! It was the perfect weather: not too hot and not too cold. These are some pictures of my front yard shortly before raking up the leaves. I wish we hadn't raked them, even though I know they needed to be. It was just so pretty, bursting with yellow/orange... But the tree they fall from is still full of leaves so I'm sure they'll be back in no time!
